How to find the right real estate agent
The first step in any real estate transaction is selecting an agent to help you. There are thousands of licensed agents in the Twin Cities all with different personalities and varying degrees of knowledge and experience. So, how do you choose the right one?
Studies have shown that people tend to gravitate toward those who's personality traits and interests are similar to their own. In other words, people like to be around people just like themselves! Look at your circle of friends. I'll bet there's a common thread that ties you to each of your closest buddies. The thread might be a hobby, a style of communication, membership in a certain organization or an attitude about life.
My Philosophy
That being said, I would like to share a little about myself - my reason for choosing a real estate career, my philosophies on serving clients and some of my hobbies and passions.
I chose a real estate career for several reasons. First, I think real estate is a great investment. I believe everyone should have an opportunity to own their own piece of this great country.
Second, I like guiding people through the complex process of buying and selling homes. Navigating through a real estate transaction can sometimes feel like riding an emotional roller coaster. I help my clients maintain the proper perspective throughout the experience by being proactive when it comes to information gathering and problem solving. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the excited look on my client's faces when they reach their real estate goals.
Third, I consider myself an entrepreneurial thinker. Before I started my real estate career I was involved in several retail start ups. Today, I use many of the marketing and business strategies I learned in my past life to build my real estate business and effectively serve my clients.
My service philosophy is simple - I believe that buying or selling a house should be a fun experience. I build trust and rapport with my clients by asking lots of questions, listening closely to their answers, clearly communicating and understanding each others expectations, and delivering on my promises. One of the ways I set myself apart from other agents is by providing my clients with ongoing, relevant real estate market information. With this information, they can make sound, educated and confident real estate decisions.
On a personal note
When I'm not selling real estate I enjoy spending time with my wife, Gina. We got married on a showboat on the St. Croix River in August 2001. Gina is my home staging partner and is also a Southern Living at Home consultant. She has a passion for home decorating and design. We have a beautiful daughter named Ava who keeps us both very busy. Ava was born April 1, 2003.
In the summer I like to watch stock car racing at the local tracks. I try to go to one major NASCAR race each year. I helped develop and operate a race car driving experience at Elko Speedway several years ago. I am active in my church, helping out with Sunday morning services and participating in Bible studies. My other hobbies include reading business and self help books, photography, working on home improvement projects and learning new computer technololgy. I enjoy traveling around the United States and taking warm weather vacations in the winter.
